Michael's Zanzibar Project!
Greetings,Parents,Brethren,Family,and Friends!!!
I trust you both fine.As for me I'm fine and everything is well.In God We Trust Forever and Ever!!! First of all i would like to thank God for wonders and miracles that he is always doing down with me.Glory and honor to him always forever.
I'm absolutely very, very glad to share with you a wonderful time i had in Zanzibar during the time sooner last week as i was doing my field trip.It was my first time first time to travel by boat,to use water route for a long time,it was my first time to be in the Island,i felt at paradise. It has been a long term dream,i thank God that i have lived to see it happening. Finally i got it!!! WITH GOD NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!
CLIMATE:
Zanzibar's climate is shaped by the monsoon with tropical sultry conditions year around moderated somewhat by the sea breezes. There was also a short rainy reason during this December, and through out the year showers can come at any time, especially on many areas with forest.
PEOPLE OF ZANZIBAR:
Zanzibar remains relatively safe place, robberies, muggings and the like occur with some frequency ,especially in Zanzibar town and along the beaches.Zanzibar people are very kind.Without forgetting to mention HABIBA.S. SALIM who has showed me around and make sure I'm safe in Zanzibar.May God bless her always. She is a Muslim and am a Christian. We trusted our God is one.As long as we live we must love, care and share with others without fixing where we come from, which religion, which political party are you interested in and so many other trait of discrimination.
AREAS THAT I VISITED.
Abeid Aman Karume International Airport,Serena Hotel,National museums of Zanzibar,Zanzibar Ministry of home affairs,Zanzibar University,Forodhan street children house, more than five big hotels,Dolphin and many others areas that not mentioned.I did not have camera to take all the events that i have seen. The above are some of the few pictures that i took with good friends that i met in Zanzibar.Others they have promised to send me when they get back to their countries.I hope you will enjoy exactly.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN ZANZIBAR.
DECOMPOSER LESS ENERGY-SHORT LIFE:.
I have seen decomposers in various places in Zanzibar, especially to the market places. What i have discovered is that decomposers get very little energy that reaches them after they have passed through plants, herbivores, and carnivores. As a result house flies will live only for a very short life time, like a week or so.
SEA FOOD LOVERS:
Gulls lived by the ocean and eat lots of fish. They watch for schools of small fish by flying above the water.Hungry gulls often follow fishing boats to sea and back. There is always the chance tasty scrap will be tossed overboard.Gulls also eat clams. But clam are hard to open.To break the shell, a gull flies in to air with a clam in its mouth and then drops it on to a rock. When the clam hits the rock, the shell cracks apart.Wherever there is food somebody somehow evolved trick on how to eat it by all means and by any means. It is very Wonderful!!!
POWERFUL EYES:
Many birds see well, and the eagle has especially good eyesight.High in the sky,a hungry eagle searches for food by gliding on the wind with its wide wings. It can spot something on the ground to eat, such fish, snakes and small mammals fro a mile up in the air! BIG EAGLE AND BIG FISH: This is like fishing goes by by size.I have seen big eagles catches big fish.It is amazing to see big eagles use a sustainable way of fishing that is not worse for the other living organisms like human being.Human being is very opportunistic, can harvest big fish, small fish, and even eggs.I'm so proud of fish eagles! The good thing about the big fish must have left behind enough of their babies.Again I'm so proud of fish eagles because they have a sustainable way of harvesting nature produce.
OWLS HUNT FOR FOOD AT NIGHT:
During night hours that i spent in Zanzibar i saw owls hunt fore food at night. They see better in the dark than most birds. With their big eyes and keen hearing, they can fly trough the night and notice even the tiniest movement on the ground below.Owls also can turn their heads almost completely around-which means they sometimes seem to have eyes at the backs of their head.
A TREE CLIMBER:
I had witnessed a woodpecker is a bird that hunts for insects under tree bark. The bird hold on to the trunk of a tree with its claws. Then its uses its beak like a drill to peck holes in the tree.Using its long tonque, the wood peckers reaches in to holes to pull out the insects.
A PLACE TO LIVE:
Most birds build nests and lay their eggs in them.warblers are among the many birds that build nests in trees. The leafy branches of the tree keep off the rain and the hot sun. After the eggs hatch the parents bring food to the baby birds. In less than two weeks, the little birds can fly.Just as mammals do to their young ones.
A FANCY BIRD:
The male Peacock is one of the most beautiful birds in the world. It has long blue-green feathers that unfold in to a huge fan.The amazing pattern on the feathers looks like tiny eyes. When the fan is closed, the feathers trail behind the bird.
GREAT TALKERS:
Each kind of birds has it own kind of communicating.Birds sing,or chirp or call out in order to scare enemies, attract mates,or alert one another to dangers. The mocking bird imitates the sound of other birds. It often sings at night, when most birds are asleep.
CURVY NECKS:
Another beautiful bird, the mute swan, swims with its beak pointed down and its long neck held in graceful S.Needing pretty of room to take off,the large bird signals nearby swans tht it is about to take flight by facing the wind and rising its long neck.Another swimming bird snake bird, swims with only its head and snaky neck above water. When it looks for food, the bird spears a fish on its bill, tosses the fish in the air,and catches it with its open mouth.GOD IS VERY WONDERFUL!!!!
KEEPING WARM AND DRY:
Feathers protect birds by keeping their bodies warm and dry.Ducks and other water birds have a special way to waterproof their feathers. With their bills, they reach for oil that comes from a gland at the base of their tails. Then they spread the oil on their feathers.Covering themselves with the oil is called preening. The wings of the most birds are naturally waterproof. But this is not true of the double-crested cormorant. After swimming, the bird must spread its large wings to dry in the sun.
LIVING TOGETHER:
Around the world, certain kinds of birds are in danger.Pollution is making them sick.People are cutting down the trees they need for their nests. We must change our ways and if we make the World a better place for the birds,it will be a better place for us as well!!!!!!!!!!
Finally,GOD IS UNMOVABLE MOVER!!!
WISE AND RESPONSIBLE,
MICHAEL.
