3. Comments by the Principal:
Miss Judith E. Mndeme joined this college with an advantage of having been exposed to tour guiding duties in her home Village – Mto wa Mbu, where she was a Cultural Tourism Program Guide. This made her study a very committed venture and therefore a successful experience.
She worked hard from beginning and gained a lot of knowledge and confidence as time went on. Judy is remarkably good when it comes to providing information; another important skill for a professional tour guide.
While at PROTS, in order to graduate in an advanced level, Judy worked on a project known as Tanzania National Parks. Her compilation is good and comprehensive research on Travel Info about the Protected Areas that proves how diligent and a hard working person she is. Judy’s second project was on Birds Identifications with 250 Species of Birds she can accurately identify – (minimum 300). She also worked on collecting general information and her Information File has about 500 items and it is well arranged for easy reference for an informative guide. This will make her guiding very educational and informative. Judy’s social skills and group dynamics are above normal expectations and many people would like to work with her. No wonder she was awarded a Sponsorship for a Diploma.
By her graduation she has attained enough Skills, Knowledge, Attitude and Performance.
We highly recommend her.

PROTS Diploma Current students and their Projects - 2009.
My name is Judith Elitwaza Mndeme, Diploma Student at PROTS.
I would like to express my sincere thank to Mr. Vedasto Izoba my principal, Mr. Victor Bubelwa our tour director, Miss Angel Izoba our Operation manager and Miss Jacqueline Minde our secretary, for granting me with this opportunity of Diploma course of which I’m based on Photographic Commentaries.
1. How can you describe my project?
· I describe my project as something unique to me and those who will go through it.
· I call it live project since it deals with photographic commentaries what actually is happening at certain time.
· Basically, I collect pictures from magazines, postcards, etc. and then go about finding the correct commentaries that corresponds well with that photograph. All the commentaries are based on body form and behavior.
2. What is the most challenging part?
· I have to read a lot to get exactly what will fit into the particular action e.g. cheetah climbing tree and giving explanation on the non-retractile claws made for running.
· Sometimes you have to read more than three different books just to get a great and understandable comment that will be great for a particular commentary.
3. What is the easiest part and fun?
· This come when I have comment from my favorite lecture which I have already being disrobed by my teacher in the class e.g. Harem - a strategy of a male Impala maintaining many females.
· This will take a little bit of time to comment.
· When I get to do commentary on a lecture that I already did its fun because I know exactly what to write so it’s get easier and gives me strength to keep going and do more commentaries.
4. 4. How much ground have you covered, number of pictures?
· I covered 210 to my target of 350.
5. 5. How relevant is your project? In the tour guiding profession?
· For any one who will come cross of it and read it, this is the pure fact in wildlife and not a story from mouth to tell.
· It’s the project that will make the tourist to have something to remember about when guided by me.
6. 6. What makes you feel special when you do your project?
· By doing this I feel that I’m rich of information and facts about wildlife ecology because I’m studying different books, magazine, watching commentaries and benefit from them.
7. 7. What is your move after this project?
· My next move will be to deal with another Body form and Behavior project, it’s a very interesting thing in my studies.
· I would really like some ideas from the principal and other stuff members on my next move. And also from you guys who are reading this interview. Because getting ideas from different people is good as they say two heads are better than one.
8. 8. Who is the key to person behind your success of this project?
· Mr. Izoba who helped me a lot, he assisted me with getting pictures. He also gave me instructions on how to write and he never got tired of giving me his good advise that kept me going.
· Also my thanks to Mr. Deus, fellow student, for his help in giving me different materials which are very helpful to me during my project.
9. 9. How are you going to use this project to attain graduation standards and job search?
· This will provide at the time of my graduation/job search how competent, accountable, knowledgeable and hard working I am. Something which will convince my employer to hire me without hesitating.
10.After saying all that I would like to advise my fellow students who have not yet started any project to start doing so because by doing so they will learn a lot and get to know more than what we have been taught in class. I will soon post some of my favourite pages in my project on this page. Don't go away. Also please, any comments are welcome.
